Oahu is really two islands for insulation. Ewa Beach, Kapolei, Waianae and much of town are hot and dry, so the main job is keeping roof heat out and cool air in. Kailua, Kaneohe, Manoa and the North Shore get more rain, so moisture and mold control matter just as much as temperature. We look at where your home sits, which way it faces, and how it is built before we recommend open cell, closed cell, or a mix.

Installers in protective suits spraying foam insulation on an Oahu job

Many Honolulu homes run window units or split systems much of the year. If the attic is uninsulated or the walls leak air, that equipment is fighting a losing battle. Spray foam seals the roof line and wall cavities in one step, so cooled air stays inside and hot, sticky outdoor air stays out. Homeowners often notice a quieter house too, with less traffic and H-1 freeway noise coming through.

Wooden attic with open gaps before spray foam insulation

Kaimuki bungalows, Palolo single wall homes and Kalihi plantation houses were built with little or no insulation, and their attics are full of gaps. Newer subdivisions in Kapolei, Ewa and Mililani have more insulation but still lose energy through recessed lights, ducts and top plates. We retrofit older homes in stages when that fits the budget, and we work with builders and ADU contractors on new projects so insulation passes inspection on schedule.

Do you really serve Oahu if you are based on Maui?

Yes. We schedule Oahu projects regularly and bring our own crew and equipment. Request a quote with your neighborhood and we will plan the visit.

Will spray foam lower my HECO bill?

Sealing and insulating the attic and walls reduces how hard your air conditioning works, which usually lowers cooling costs. Savings depend on your home and how you use AC.

Is spray foam safe for my family?

Once cured, spray foam is inert. We ask that people stay out of the work area during spraying and for a short period after, and we explain the timing before we start.

Can you insulate a single wall home?

Often, yes. Depending on how the walls are framed, we can insulate the roof deck and underside of the floor and, in some cases, add framing to create wall cavities.
